About this publication
This report includes a review of the published academic literature on co-management models from Canada, New Zealand and Australia. A range of planning, research and advocacy partnership agreements for the co-management of different resources are considered. The report also includes a desktop analysis of the functions of water management exercised by the Northern Territory Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sports. The review seeks to inform discussion on alternative co-management models by communities in Australia’s north.
This report has been produced as part of the sub-project Social and cultural values in the planning cycle, which is part of the Social and Cultural Values project for the Northern Australia Water Futures Assessment.
