Water Efficiency Opportunities Program
The objectives of the Water Efficiency Opportunities Program is to support and encourage water efficiency in the commercial and industrial sectors of the community.
The commercial and industrial sector has an important role to play in securing water supplies. As large users of water, there are productivity gains and net economic benefits, as well as environmental benefits to be made from using less water.
Current opportunities
- Prime Minister's Water Wise Award - Nominations close 30 November 2009 at 5pm AEST
Outcomes
Water Efficiency Opportunities program involves:
- Establishing the Prime Minister's Water Wise Award
- Providing case studies and best practice guides on water efficiency
- Linking to current Commonwealth, state and territory government and water service provider grants and rebates schemes
- Checklists to self-assess water efficiency opportunities, and
- Step-by-step instructions for businesses considering options for wastewater reuse.
