About the project
The project will reduce potable water consumption by substituting it with stormwater collected from within the development. The stormwater will be redirected from Toolern Creek and Kororoit Creek catchments.
The project will construct approximately 23km of stormwater mains from proposed wetlands within the development of Toolern.
Project benefits/objectives:
- reduce the demand for potable water by up to 2,760 ML/yr
- contribute to an integrated water management scheme
- reduce the impact of urban runoff on the local waterways and environment, and
- increase community awareness of water conservation issues and benefits of integrated water management.
