About the project

This project has been designed to capture the flows from an existing open stormwater drain. Stormwater will then be treated by GPT, bio-retention filters, sand filtration, UV disinfection and chlorination. The project will provide water security for 13 community and council facilities in the City of Canada Bay, which are currently irrigated with potable water.

These facilities include Massey Park Golf Course; Concord Oval; Barnwell Park Golf Course; Queen Elizabeth Park; Cintra Park; St Lukes Oval; Sid Richards Oval and Five Dock Park. These facilities attract many residents and visitors for sporting and recreational activities, such as little athletics, cricket, soccer, rugby union, rugby league and AFL.

Project benefits/objectives:

Stormwater Harvesting and Reuse projects are funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
