Government and non-government schools: coordinated delivery arrangements

Some schools should not submit claims directly to the National Solar Schools Program (NSSP).

Government and non-government education authorities in each state and territory are looking at ways to coordinate the delivery of NSSP funding for their schools. These arrangements will obtain the best value for money and make the process as simple as possible for their schools. These arrangements will also usually involve schools being given a streamlined claim form to complete and pass on to their education organisation, instead of completing and submitting on-line the usual NSSP claim form.

For some schools, this means that they will not need to submit an individual claim for funding to the NSSP. Instead, their education authority will coordinate their funding for them.

To determine whether or not your school should proceed with submitting a claim directly to the NSSP, please check the information in your relevant state or territory entry below.

Non-government schools please note that to date, arrangements for coordinated delivery of funding have only been confirmed, in-principal, for Catholic schools in Victoria. However, other organisations have also expressed interest in developing cooperative arrangements. Non-government schools should check this page regularly for updates that may affect them directly.

Step 1 - Read the advice for your state or territory

The below advice for each state and territory has been confirmed by participating education authorities. It will be updated promptly as soon as there are any changes.

Step 2 - Register for National Solar Schools

All schools wishing to receive NSSP funding - either through coordinated funding arrangements or through an individual claim - must read the Registration Instructions and then complete the simple two-step online registration process.

Can our school submit a claim form directly to the NSSP?

No.

Why not?

How should we proceed?

Schools should hold off preparing or submitting claims for NSSP funding until an environmental audit has been completed at their premises. Schools should contact John Bayliss at DET to discuss the timing of their audit and details of their proposed claim before submitting it to the NSSP.
