About the submission

The Productivity Commission's draft report provides a critical review of waste management policy in Australia. Through a principles-based approach, the commission has provided valuable perspectives on the current state of waste policy in Australia.

Although the Department of the Environment and Heritage (DEH) supports the key findings of the draft report, there are four important areas that could benefit from further consideration.
