Kakadu National Park

A new management plan for Kakadu

© Director of National Parks, 2012

A new management plan is being prepared for Kakadu National Park.

The current plan guides the management of the park until 31 December 2013. A new plan must then be put in place to guide how the park will be managed for the next 10 years.

Kakadu has just been through a 'have your say' process, seeking public input in the issues that should be addressed by the new plan. Thank you to everyone who submitted comments. The formal 'have your say' process has now closed, but please contact us at KakaduPlan@environment.gov.au if you would like to provide further input.

We are now preparing a draft management plan for the park, which is expected to be available for public comment in 2013.

For more information on the management of Kakadu, please refer to the current management plan - Kakadu National Park Management Plan 2007-2014.
