Report on road and walking track conditions
Road and access report
Road conditions in Kakadu National Park vary according to the season. Spectacular wet season flooding leaves the roads to some parts of the park underwater. As the flood waters subside around April and May each year, the urgent work begins to repair roads and fix up campgrounds.
Most of the park is open all year round. If your favourite area isn't accessible yet, you can be sure we're working to get it open for you as soon as possible!
We have an 'access report' that we update every day, listing the parts of the park that are open and closed. If in doubt, call the friendly staff at our Bowali Visitor Centre on (08) 8938 1120 for advice or email them at KakaduNationalPark@environment.gov.au.
