The stunning birdlife of the South Alligator Area
South Alligator Area
The Mamukala wetlands feature a stunning variety of birdlife, which can be viewed from an observation platform and a dry season walking track. Along the banks of the South Alligator River is a boat ramp, picnic area and fish cleaning facilities. During the dry season, experienced 4-Wheel-Drivers can access the remote areas of Two Mile Hole, Four Mile Hole and West Alligator River for fishing and camping. Please observe all crocodile warning signs and camp in designated areas.

Jabiru Area
The Bowali Visitor Centre
The Bowali Visitor Centre should be your first stop on your Kakadu Adventure. Located just five minutes from Jabiru, the centre can offer visitors friendly advice on what to see and where to stay. Scenic flights, available from the Jabiru Airport, are the best way to see Kakadu's waterfalls in full flow during the wet season.

Jabiru has a service station, supermarket, newsagent and post office (Commonwealth Bank agency), Westpac Bank, travel agent, medical centre and chemist, police, public telephones, swimming pool, library, hairdresser, restaurant and cafe.
The spectacular views from Ubirr
East Alligator Area
The East Alligator area features some of the best rock art in the park at the Ubirr Rock Art site, and has several bushwalks to explore. Climb up to the lookout at Ubirr to see spectacular views over the Nardab floodplain, particularly at sunset. Access to Ubirr is affected by the wet season, so check the road report. Take a cruise on the East Alligator during the dry season or on Magela Creek during the wet season with Guliambi River Cruises.

Nourlangie Rock
Nourlangie Area
The Nourlangie Area features stunning rock art galleries and impressive views from Gunwarddehwardde lookout of Kakadu's escarpment and Nourlangie Rock. During the dry season you can learn more about the park's ancient heritage from ranger talks at the galleries, or enjoy a walk and relaxing picnic at Anbangbang Billabong.

The Yellow Water Wetlands
Yellow Water Area
Home to the spectacular Yellow Water Wetlands, visitors can experience the park's wildlife on a Yellow Water Cruise and along the boardwalks. The displays and exhibitions at the Warradjan Cultural Centre give an invaluable insight into Aboriginal culture and caring for country. Gagudju Cooinda Lodge offers a central hub for all visitors seeking an evening meal and entertainment.

Gunlom Falls and plunge pool
Mary River Area
This area offers spectacular bushwalks, plunge pools and waterfalls. Some areas are 4WD only and are subject to closure during the wet season, so check the road report. During the dry season relax at the camping and picnic areas close to Gunlom Falls. Please observe all crocodile warning signs.

Jim Jim Falls
Jim Jim Area
The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Please observe all crocodile warning signs. Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season.
