Assisted land purchase
The Mole Creek Karst Forest Programme (MCKFP) has funds to assist with land purchase in Mole Creek.
Land sale, as with all aspects of Mole Creek Karst Forest Programme, is voluntary. No one can be forced to sell land. If a sale is desired by the landowner, there is no guarantee that a buyer can be found or a purchase price agreed.
For sellers
If you nominate that you are interested in selling your land, a Field Agent will arrange a visit to assess your land against the MCKFP priorities (see Fact Sheet 1, General Information, for further details).
As the MCKFP will run only until the end of June 2008, a contract of sale must be signed before that date for the MCKFP to provide the funds. If the forest target for the Programme (2400 hectares) is reached or the funds ($3.6 million) for the Programme are exhausted, then no contracts will be undertaken and the MCKFP will be completed.
For buyers
If you are interested in buying a property in the MCKFP, you can register your interest with the MCKFP Administrator, the Tasmanian Land Conservancy. You must be prepared to covenant the forested land in perpetuity.
