About the report
This document provides a short Final Report for Desert Knowledge CRC Project Criteria for Defining Area of High Conservation Value in Rangelands, a small project contracted by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) in late 2005 in the form of a workshop. The objective of the workshop was to draw on key ecological, management and policy expertise to define a state-of-the-art rationale for the mapping of high conservation value (HCV) areas in the rangelands, and, if necessary, to develop the approach required to test and implement this mapping.
