Indigenous Career Development and Recruitment Strategy
The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts has developed an Indigenous Career Development and Recruitment Strategy.
The strategy enables Indigenous staff to expand their range of skills, and aims to increase the number of Indigenous people within the Department at all levels.
The strategy is designed to:
- Build a supporting and encouraging workplace environment;
- Offer Indigenous people employment opportunities at all levels throughout DEW; and
- Provide career development opportunities so all Indigenous employees can achieve their full potential.
The Department will:
- Provide high-quality service delivery to Indigenous clients; and
- Develop closer working relationships with Indigenous Australians to achieve the mutual goals of valuing, protecting and conserving the natural and cultural environment for future generations.
