About this guide
This guide is provided so that in situ recovery uranium mining proposals may be framed having regard to current world best practice standards, including minimum standards for environmental protection.
In Australia, all uranium mining and exploration proposals which are likely to have a significant impact on the environment must be referred under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 for a decision on whether to approve the proposal. The guidelines are not binding or determinative.
