About the application

On 14 April 2008 the Department of the Environment, Heritage and the Arts received an application for a permit to kill, injure, take, trade, keep or move a listed threatened species and ecological community, listed migratory species in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 200 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The application was for collection and propagation of seeds from Cumberland Plain Woodlands and Shale Sandstone Transition Forests from within the Holsworthy Military Area, NSW.

In accordance with the provisions of section 200(3) of the Act, public comments were invited on this proposal.

The comment period was open for a period of 10 business days and ended at the close of business on 29 April 2008.

On 27 May 2008 a delegate for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts decided to issue a permit under section 201 of the EPBC Act for the proposed action.
