About the application
The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts received an application for approval for a permit to kill, injure, take, trade, keep or move a listed threatened species and ecological community in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 200 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The application is collect seeds and cuttings from Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub from North Head, NSW. The Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub is an endangered ecological community listed under the EPBC Act.

In accordance with the provisions of section 200(3) of the Act, public comments were invited on this proposal.
The comment period was open for a period of 10 business days and ended at the close of business on 21 October 2008.
On 22 October 2008 a delegate for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts decided to issue the action a permit under section 201 of the EPBC Act.
