The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) received a submission - Application to the Australian Government Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts on the Trochus Fishery - October 2008 - from the Department of Fisheries, Western Australia (DFWA) in November 2008 seeking export accreditation for the WA Trochus Fishery. The report has been prepared to address the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries, 2nd Edition (the Guidelines). The submission will be used to assess the operation of the fishery for the purposes of Parts 13 and 13A of the EPBC Act.

The public comment period opened 20 November 2008 and closed 18 December 2008.
