About the draft report
This report addresses the criteria contained in guidelines developed by Environment Australia for reporting on the ecological sustainable development (ESD) of fisheries under the jurisdiction of the Wildlife Protection (Regulation of exports and imports) Act (1982). This reporting requirement is a consequence of recent amendments to Schedule 4 of this act that have de-listed a range of marine species, including abalone, from exemption provisions for export certification. It is intended that this draft report will serve as the first step towards Environment Australia certification for the export of Victorian abalone.
