About the assessment report
In November 2007, the Queensland Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries provided a submission for further assessment of the East Coast Beche-de-mer Fishery under Parts 13 and 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The submission – Annual Status Report April 2007, Annual Status Report 2007, and Annual Status report 2005 reports against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries – 2nd Edition and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations made in the original assessment undertaken by the Department of the Environment and Heritage in November 2004.
The 2007 DEWHA assessment report considers the submission and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
