Accreditation of a plan of management and declaration pursuant to section 33
I, Andrew McNee, Assistant Secretary, Marine Environment Branch, as Delegate of the Minister for the Environment and Heritage, pursuant to subsection 33(3), hereby propose to accredit the New and Exploratory Fisheries in the CCAMLR Region Statement of Management Arrangements 2005 for the purposes of a declaration under subsection 33(1). In doing so I am satisfied that:
- The New and Exploratory Fisheries in the CCAMLR Region Statement of Management Arrangements 2005 in force under the Commonwealth Fisheries Management Act 1991 meet the criteria prescribed by the regulations;
- There has been adequate assessment of the impacts that actions approved in accordance with the New and Exploratory Fisheries in the CCAMLR Region Statement of Management Arrangements 2005 have, will have or are likely to have on the environment when taken in a Commonwealth Marine Area as protected by sections 23 and 24A; and
- Actions approved or taken in accordance with the New and Exploratory Fisheries in the CCAMLR Region Statement of Management Arrangements 2005 will not have unacceptable or unsustainable impacts on the environment when taken in a Commonwealth Marine Area as protected by sections 23 and 24A.
