About the codes
The commercial and non-commercial national codes of practice for the humane shooting of kangaroos and wallabies outline an achievable minimum standard of humane conduct in regard to the shooting of kangaroos and wallabies. The codes were endorsed by the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council on the 7th November 2008.
Compliance with the commercial code is a requirement of Wildlife Trade Management Plans for the commercial use (and export) of kangaroos and wallabies, approved under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
