About this document

The code of practice on the humane treatment of wild and farmed Australian crocodiles outlines an achievable minimum standard of humane conduct in regard to the treatment of wild and farmed crocodiles. The code was endorsed by the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council on 21 May 2009.

Compliance with the code is a requirement of Wildlife Trade Management Plans for the commercial use (and export) of crocodiles, approved under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
