Comments invited
A draft environment assessment report has been prepared by Oceanis Pty. Ltd. under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 to amend the live import list to include the Grey Nurse Shark (C. taurus) for exhibition and education purposes.
The report has been prepared against the terms of reference for fish and other mobile aquatic animals, and assesses the suitability of the Grey Nurse Shark for import into Australia.
Comments are invited on the draft report. It is available for public comment for 40 business days, closing on 11 May 2009. All comments received will be provided to the applicant to address in finalising the assessment report. Any relevant information provided will be considered by the Department prior to briefing the Minister.
