About the guide

This guide has been produced in consultation with representatives of the main avicultural bodies in Australia to assist exotic bird keepers to make informed decisions about marking and individually identifying the birds they hold.

The method used to mark and identify each individual bird is a personal choice for each exotic bird keeper. Each bird keeper should use a system that best suits the species they hold and their individual circumstances.
