International obligations
The Golden Bandicoot as part of the family Peramelidae is listed under Appendix 1 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The Recovery Plan is consistent with CITES and with Australias other obligations under international agreements. The Golden-backed Tree-rat is not listed under CITES. Both species are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List (IUCN 2003).
