About the plan
The Dwarf Sedge Carex paupera is listed as Vulnerable under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and is listed as Threatened under the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. The species is endemic to the highlands of eastern Victoria, between Dargo and Mt Bogong, above 1200 m altitude. Major threats to populations include weed invasion, grazing, recreational activities including offroad vehicle use, and climate change.
This national Recovery Plan for C. paupera details the species' distribution and biology, conservation status, threats, and recovery objectives and actions necessary to ensure its longterm survival.
