About the report
The purpose of this technical report was to determine whether the different fuels available or soon to be available on the Australian market would have an impact on emissions from heavy duty engines. In particular:
- the effects of the Australian standard for diesel allowing a Cetane Index of 46 where the European specification requires a Cetane Number of 51; and
- to gain a better understanding of the relationship between engine load and air quality emissions, especially particles.
