The Secretary of the Department of the Environment, Sport and Territories, Roger Beale, has today announced the Head of the Environment Priorities and Co-ordination Group of Environment Australia, Mr Phillip Toyne, will be resigning his appointment in late June 1997 to pursue professional opportunities overseas.
Mr Beale said that Mr Toyne had made a very significant contribution to the development of Australian environment policy and programs.
Mr Toyne has been Head of the Environment Priorities and Co-ordination Group, formally called the Environment Strategies Directorate, since his appointment to the Department in 1994.
Mr Beale wished Mr Toyne every success in his future endeavours.
